A Trip to the Moon
The theme of this project is "A Trip to the Moon". We were asked to create a ten-second stop-motion animation using paper. This is a group project and my team member is Amber Liu. We used Dragon Frame for this project.
Story
The inspiration for this story is drawn from the ancient Chinese legend of the moon rabbit. According to the legend, there is a rabbit on the moon who is constantly pounding medicine, and in the story of Chang'e flying to the moon, the rabbit accompanies her in the moon palace. As both of us have Chinese heritage, we chose the moon rabbit as the protagonist for this story. The gist of the story is that when the moon rabbit looks at the Earth from the moon, it always seems to resemble a block of blue cheese, so he decides to get closer for a better look. Eventually, on one of the planets, he eats up the Earth, and this idea is reminiscent of mooncakes, a traditional Chinese pastry eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
